This presentation covered aspects of compassion fatigue, burnout, and self-care related to contexts internal and external to the impact of confronting trauma in a variety of fields: veterinarian, nursing, chaplaincy, mental health, and memory work. Areas of exploration included responses of workers to burnout, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress and vicarious trauma, and ethical fatigue. Lecture and discussion continued to examine self-care and its many expressions.
